I’ve made the list: Financial Standard FSPower50

I am really quite pleased to be part of this year’s FSPower50 – a list of the 50 most influential financial advisers in Australia, as named by leading trade publication Financial Standard

The FS Power50 are financial advisers deemed to be best promoting the value of the financial advice profession, while providing outstanding service to their clients and the wider community.

This means a lot to me because my feelings about the world of advice have, historically, been what you could call ‘conflicted’:

On the one hand, the opportunity that great financial advice has always had to improve the lives of the people we work with, is something I’m very proud of.

But on the other hand, we’ve had some pretty ordinary behaviour define our world for a big part of my career. Dealing with the lingering fallout from the things we all know about has led to so much annoyance in my career.

Coming through the other side of that though, and witnessing what this profession has become – and how it continues to evolve – is incredibly exciting.

Being seen as part of that movement, and recognised in this group of outstanding performers, is a very, very nice moment.

Thanks to everybody that nominated and voted for me.

Thanks also to the other 49 people on the list – and everybody else having a red-hot crack at making financial advice the best profession it can be!
